  We just got back from a one month tour of New Zealand and Australia. The first week in December we spent four nights at this lovely boutique hotel. The owners, Kylie and Gavin were like old friends, warm, welcoming and gracious. The hotel was perfect for us, laid back, yet it had every amenity. We had a lovely room with a small kitchen and veranda overlooking the ocean. The food was so good the first night, we dined there the next three nights. The staff was friendly and attentive. It was delightful.

  The staff, from co-owners Gavin and Kylie through to all the waiting on staff, are extremely attentive and helpful. Being picked up from the hotel in the morning for a day snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef on a boat run by marine biologists. What's not to like?

  Only checked in at breakfast time this morning but already clear that this is a special hotel in a special location. Right by 4-mile beach in Port Douglas, both our room and the restaurant overlook the beach and ocean through the line of palm trees. There is very little traffic past the hotel, even with the balcony doors shut I'm listening to the waves lapping against the shore, and earlier during dinner on the patio we listened to and watched Bush Stone Curlew running up and down the street.

  We decamped here after a disastrous stay at a big resort up the road and arrived feeling stressed and strung out. We walked in to a genuinely warm greeting, a cool drink, a table overlooking the beach and with good humour. The room was gorgeous - comfortable and thoughtfully laid out and with more lux and better appointments than the big hotels. Great location! Sunset walk on 4 mile beach and a lazy wander down he main drag to the markets the next morning. what stress???? This is a genuinely boutique hotel - Lovely pool, spa, no children policy, incredible staff standards, we were looked after really well - thank you for rescuing us, and our romantic weekend.

  Port Douglas Peninsula Boutique Hotel deserves more than 5 stars. My husband and I had a wonderful time there this month, starting with the warm welcome by the owners Kevin and Kylie and the rest of the staff. The rooms are actually suites with all the amenities and ladies, for a change, sufficient lighting in the bathroom! In close proximity to the main street and all the shops, walking distance to the marina. So I would rate this hotel 5 stars for hospitality, 5 stars for facilities and another 5 stars for location. Stay here and you won't regret it. We will be back.

  We stayed at the Peninsula Boutique Hotel for three nights while on our honeymoon. We were able to check in early and Kylie enthusiastically showed us around the hotel to ensure we knew what was available to us and where things were located. The staff including Kylie and Gavin were extremely attentive and kind. The breakfast was also phenomenal. The room was spacious and included everything we needed to relax for a few nights in Port Douglas. Getting into the heart of town is easily walkable and they offer complimentary sunscreen to their guests to protect exposed skin in the strong Aussie sun. Would recommend this hotel to anybody not traveling with children looking for a quiet and luxurious getaway to Port Douglas (hotel is 21+).
